Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents as an LPN, making each day better for patients
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately following facility protocols
- Assess residents’ health status, report changes promptly, and collaborate with the care team
- Document care and resident responses clearly and timely in the medical record
- Support admissions, transfers, and discharges to ensure smooth transitions
- Coach and mentor CNA staff when appropriate, helping maintain high standards of care
- Participate in care planning and quality improvement initiatives to improve outcomes
Qualifications
- Current LPN license in good standing (Maine license preferred)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification (or obtain upon hire)
- Comfortable with medication administration, basic wound care, and routine nursing procedures
- Ability to pass standard background checks and immunization/TB screening per facility policy
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing (LPN) program or equivalent vocational nursing training
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and documentation
- Basic nursing assessments and vital signs monitoring
- Charting and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) or willingness to learn
- Infection control principles and safe patient handling
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond calmly in fast-paced situations
