Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
- Monitor and record vital signs and report changes in condition to the nursing team promptly
- Provide compassionate personal care and emotional support to residents and their families
- Communicate effectively with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
- Document care accurately and timely in the facility charting system
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, Maine preferred or eligibility to obtain
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Reliable, compassionate attitude with strong interpersonal skills
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing settings is a plus
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic resident care
- Skill in taking and recording vital signs and observing clinical changes
- Safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Infection control practices and proper use of PPE
- Strong communication, teamwork, and resident-centered care approach
