Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents with dignity and respect
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and toileting
- Support resident mobility and safe transfers with proper techniques
- Observe and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team
- Accurately document care and resident interactions in charts or electronic records
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and families to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential (required)
- Valid CNA certification in Maine or ability to obtain state certification
- Comfort working evening shifts and supporting a long-term care population
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
- Positive attitude, reliable attendance, and strong teamwork skills
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Current CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic clinical skills: bathing, feeding, toileting, and vital sign checks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents and families
- Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling practices
- Accurate documentation and time management
- Compassion, patience, and the ability to provide person-centered care
