Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents — assist with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes to the nursing team promptly
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through respectful communication
• Maintain clean, safe resident environments by following infection control and safety protocols
• Document care accurately and timely in resident charts to support continuity of care
• Assist nursing staff with care plans and follow directions from licensed nurses to meet individualized resident needs

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (Maine) or eligible to obtain state certification
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• A caring attitude, strong communication skills, and reliability
• Ability to perform physical aspects of the role, including lifting and mobility assistance
• Successful completion of background checks and any facility-required screenings

Education

• High school diploma or GED and completion of an approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on patient care and personal care support
• Basic vital sign measurement and documentation
• Infection control best practices and safe patient handling
• Clear, compassionate communication with residents and families
• Teamwork and ability to follow direction from licensed nursing staff
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
