Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor resident condition and report changes to nursing staff promptly
• Support safe transfers and mobility while promoting independence
• Assist with bathing, dressing, feeding and toileting with dignity and respect
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow facility care plans
• Contribute to a calm, friendly environment by communicating clearly with residents and families
• Help uphold infection control procedures and a clean, safe facility

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential required; T-CNA preferred
• Active or eligible for state CNA registration in West Virginia
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and supporting older adult populations
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Professional references demonstrating reliability and patient-centered care

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program completion required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven ability to assist with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
• Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling
• Familiarity with basic documentation and charting practices
• Good observational skills to notice changes in resident condition
• Compassionate interpersonal skills for working with seniors and families
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced long-term care setting
