Registered Nurse - Case Management
Location: Medford, OR
Start Date: 02-02-2026
End Date: 05-04-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Day shift); weekend coverage every other weekend (variable); no on-call. Prefer 8-hour shifts, may consider occasional 10-hour shifts.
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Coordinate safe, patient-centered discharge plans by working closely with families and community partners
- Perform case management tasks including admission criteria review, continued stay reviews, and care coordination
- Execute utilization review activities and document medical necessity and DRG-related findings when applicable
- Manage appeals and denials processes and assist in securing authorizations from payers
- Document thoroughly and accurately in Epic to ensure continuity of care and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, RT, pharmacy, social services, etc.) to remove barriers to discharge
- Facilitate post-acute placement arrangements including SNF authorization, home health, hospice, and DME coordination
- Support weekend discharge workflows and new assessments during weekend coverage
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Oregon or eligible to obtain one (pending licensure considered)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical or case management experience
- BLS certification required (preferred if already on file)
- Proven proficiency with Epic or similar electronic health record systems
- Knowledge of utilization review principles, admission criteria, continued stay review, and appeals/denials
- Familiarity with regulatory standards: CMS, DRG, HIPAA, NCQA, OSHA, and The Joint Commission
- Comfort covering multiple acute departments (ICU, med-surg, telemetry, observation, ED) and floating across units
- Strong communication, organization, and care coordination skills

- Utilization review, medical necessity, and continued stay review processes
- Experience with appeals and denials workflows
- Understanding of CMS, DRG, HIPAA, NCQA, OSHA, and The Joint Commission standards
- Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and community partners
- Comfort managing high census environments and variable workloads
