Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver targeted perinatal education focused on OR circulation for C-sections — teach with clarity and confidence
• Coach and mentor circulating nurses during C-section scenarios to improve safety and teamwork
• Design hands-on training, simulations and competency assessments for Family Birthplace staff
• Collaborate with obstetrics, anesthesia and perioperative teams to standardize circulation practices
• Maintain and document up-to-date skills checklists and educator records required by the facility
• Support continuous quality improvement initiatives related to labor & delivery and OR workflows
• Communicate clearly with leadership about training needs, scheduling and any barriers to safe care

Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN license (must be uploaded with profile and in-hand)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required — or higher degree
• 3+ years RN Educator experience in the perinatal field (current experience required)
• Proven experience educating and circulating in the OR specifically for C-sections — straight L&D RNs without OR/circulation experience will not be considered
• Active ACLS, BLS and NRP certifications in-hand at profile upload (required)
• Strong clinical expertise in Labor & Delivery and OR circulation for C-sections
• Meditech Expanse experience is strongly preferred
• Must have reliable personal vehicle for assignment and include permanent address on profile (facility will not consider candidates within 50 miles of location)

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Perinatal education design and adult learning principles
• Operating room circulation best practices for C-sections
• Labor & Delivery clinical workflows and emergency response
• Competency assessment and skills checklist management
• Interprofessional communication and team-based simulation training
• Electronic health record familiarity (Meditech Expanse preferred)
• Patient safety, infection control and compliance with facility policies
• Ability to create clear training materials and deliver engaging hands-on sessions
