Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Measure and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and safe use of assistive devices
- Support meal times and ensure residents receive proper nourishment
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate clearly with the care team
- Follow infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through respectful, person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
- Active CNA certification in Maine or ability to obtain prior to start
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable performing basic patient care tasks and taking vital signs
- Able to pass background check and meet facility health/immunization requirements
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic clinical skills: bathing, feeding, toileting, transferring residents
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Understanding of infection control and safety procedures
- Good documentation and communication skills with clinical teams
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
