Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, supporting dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report to nursing staff
- Document care accurately and timely in resident records
- Collaborate with the care team to deliver individualized, person-centered care
- Help create a warm, respectful environment that promotes resident well-being
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (state-appropriate) — must be active and in good standing
- Completion of a state-approved CNA program or equivalent training
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a caring attitude toward residents
- Reliable and punctual with a commitment to teamwork
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of a state-approved CNA program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on experience with basic nursing care and ADLs
- Comfortable with resident hygiene, feeding assistance, and mobility support
- Solid observation skills to notice and report changes in resident status
- Good documentation practices and attention to detail
- Teamwork mindset and ability to follow care plans and nurse directions
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
