Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting
- Take and record vital signs, track changes and report concerns to nursing staff
- Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Help keep resident rooms and common areas tidy and safe
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families and the care team
- Document care activities accurately and promptly to ensure continuity
Qualifications
- Valid CNA certification (required)
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Compassionate attitude and strong communication skills
- Comfort with basic patient care tasks and working in a team environment
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing helpful but not required
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved CNA program and current certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Foundational patient care and ADL support
- Vital signs measurement and basic clinical observation
- Infection prevention and safe hygiene practices
- Accurate charting and basic documentation
- Teamwork, time management and clear communication
- Respectful, person-centered care and empathy
