Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to your patients with confidence
- Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications, treatments and document accurately in the medical record
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate excellent care
- Educate patients and families to support recovery and discharge plans
- Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate appropriately
- Champion patient safety and quality improvement initiatives on your unit
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse license in Maine or compact RN license as applicable
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred where relevant
- Prior acute care or hospital nursing experience preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work overnight shifts and adapt to a fast-paced unit
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
Knowledge & Skills
- Sound knowledge of nursing fundamentals and acute care practices
- Proficient documentation and clinical charting in electronic health records
- Medication administration and IV therapy skills
- Patient assessment, triage and prioritization abilities
- Infection control, safety protocols and evidence-based practice familiarity
- Comfort working in interdisciplinary teams and mentoring newer staff
