Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care for adults in a 20-bed unit
• Manage ventilators and perform ventilator assessments to optimize respiratory support
• Monitor intracranial pressure (ICP) and hemodynamics, responding swiftly to changes
• Administer IV therapies and manage complex infusions safely and accurately
• Use critical thinking and independent judgment to prioritize care in emergency situations
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary team
• Document patient care clearly and timely in the electronic health record (Meditech Expanse preferred)
• Participate in unit initiatives to maintain high standards of patient satisfaction and safety

Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN license in-hand (must be uploaded with profile) — non-negotiable
• Minimum 2 years of current Critical Care nursing experience (required)
• Active ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) certifications (required)
• Proven experience with ventilator management, ICP monitoring, and hemodynamic monitoring (required)
• IV therapy qualifications (required)
• Meditech Expanse experience (strongly preferred)
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), PEARS, and PALS certifications (preferred)
• BSN (preferred)
• Traveler must have a permanent address in profile and their own vehicle
• One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years (required) and at least two specific interview availability slots must be provided

Education

• Registered Nurse (RN) — Massachusetts state licensure required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced critical care knowledge including ventilator, ICP and hemodynamic management
• Strong assessment skills and rapid clinical decision-making
• Proficiency with IV therapy and complex medication administration
• Experience with electronic charting (Meditech Expanse preferred)
• Excellent communication, time management, and teamwork abilities
• Emotional stability and composure in high-acuity and emergency settings
• Familiarity with critical access/community hospital workflows and patient satisfaction focus
