Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients
• Manage patient assessments, monitoring and documentation in EPIC with accuracy
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives and interdisciplinary teams to support safe deliveries
• Perform fetal monitoring (EFM) and intervene promptly according to unit protocols
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using ACLS, NRP and BLS skills as required
• Participate in unit competency testing and maintain required skill checklists
• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery and postpartum care with empathy
• Contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement on the unit

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Rhode Island (required)
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program and a minimum of 2 years of job-related experience
• BLS is required; ACLS and NRP required for Labor and Delivery roles
• EFM certification preferred
• EPIC electronic health record experience is mandatory
• Current immunizations and required health screenings per facility policy

Education

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN, BSN or equivalent)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Labor and Delivery clinical knowledge and hands-on patient care
• Proficiency with EPIC for documentation and order entry
• Fetal monitoring interpretation and EFM management
• Acute care, emergency response and obstetric stabilization skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
• Familiarity with unit competency exams, basic EKG and pharmacology assessments
