Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic exams with care and professional accuracy
• Prepare and maintain the radiographic room and imaging equipment for safe, efficient use
• Transport patients safely to and from the radiographic room, prioritizing comfort and dignity
• Evaluate and document images according to departmental protocols to support clinical decisions
• Operate X-ray equipment following safety and regulatory standards to protect patients and staff
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure equipment readiness between exams
• Collaborate with clinical teams to facilitate timely imaging and excellent patient flow

Qualifications

• Current registry in Radiography through ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
• Active Rhode Island radiographer license (must maintain during assignment)
• Completion of an AMA-approved X-ray training program
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Proficiency in English for effective patient communication
• Meet facility health requirements (COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, TB screening, influenza, fit testing, varicella, Tdap)

Education

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an AMA-approved X-ray training school

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of diagnostic radiography principles and patient positioning
• Skilled in operating and troubleshooting X-ray equipment
• Ability to evaluate image quality and document findings accurately
• Patient transport skills with attention to safety and comfort
• Knowledge of infection control, radiation safety, and room preparation protocols
• Clear communication and teamwork in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Attention to detail in maintaining licensure, certifications, and mandatory health documentation
