Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients' functional abilities and personalized needs to create meaningful treatment plans
- Design and implement occupational therapy interventions to improve independence with daily activities
- Provide skilled, patient-centered care while documenting progress clearly and promptly
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and achieve patient goals
- Educate patients and families on adaptive strategies, home safety, and energy conservation
- Maintain compliance with facility policies, licensure verification, and required health screenings
Qualifications
- Current Occupational Therapy license/certification appropriate for practice (state requirements apply)
- BLS certification required
- License/Certificate Verification required prior to assignment
- Completion of required health screenings and immunizations (COVID-19 vaccine, TB testing/questionnaire, drug screen, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, influenza, fit test, VHC color vision as applicable)
- Comfortable working in per diem / travel assignments with a flexible schedule
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well with patients and the care team
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of occupational therapy evaluation and intervention techniques
- Skilled in ADL training, adaptive equipment recommendations, and functional mobility strategies
- Competent documentation practices and familiar with electronic medical record workflows
- Ability to work independently on short-term assignments and integrate quickly with new teams
- Patient-centered approach with strong teaching and coaching skills for patients and families
