Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents as an LPN
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor vital signs
- Document care and communicate changes in condition to the care team
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists and providers to deliver coordinated care
- Assist with admission, transfer and discharge processes as needed
- Promote a safe, clean environment and adhere to infection control practices
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in West Virginia or eligibility to obtain one
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required or willing to obtain
- Comfortable with 12-hour night shift responsibilities in a long-term care or similar setting
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well on an interdisciplinary team
- Previous LPN clinical experience preferred but new graduates are encouraged to inquire
Education
- LPN diploma, certificate or equivalent from an accredited program
- High school diploma or GED
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Skilled in patient assessment, wound care basics and vital sign monitoring
- Familiarity with electronic medical record charting (EMR) or willingness to learn
- Solid infection control and safety awareness
- Ability to prioritize, multitask and remain calm in fast-paced situations
