Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living to residents
• Support safe transfers and mobility, helping residents maintain independence
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
• Assist with meal assistance, grooming, and hygiene needs in a respectful manner
• Document care accurately and communicate effectively with the care team
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents

Qualifications

• Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — New York state preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings (TB, immunizations)
• Comfortable assisting with transfers and personal care; strong attention to resident safety
• Reliable, compassionate, and patient-centered approach to caregiving

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completed accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong resident-centered communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling
• Ability to follow care plans and document observations clearly
• Teamwork mindset and ability to coordinate with nurses and support staff
• Time management skills to handle multiple resident needs during a shift
