Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality transthoracic and focused echocardiographic studies using ultrasound equipment
• Acquire diagnostic images and Doppler studies, ensuring completeness and clinical accuracy
• Prepare patients for procedures with compassion, explaining the exam and addressing concerns
• Collaborate with cardiologists and interdisciplinary teams to support diagnostic needs
• Maintain accurate patient records, document findings, and ensure timely delivery of images/reports
• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and the facility's vaccination and health-screening requirements
• Perform routine equipment checks and report any maintenance or quality issues
• Participate in quality assurance activities and continuing education to keep skills current

Qualifications

• Active cardiac sonography certification (e.g., RDCS or ARDMS) or equivalent — license/certificate verification required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain prior to start
• Demonstrated experience performing echocardiography procedures preferred
• Ability to pass required health screenings and immunization checks (COVID-19, TB screening, etc.)
• Strong patient-focused communication skills and professional bedside manner
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work within a clinical team environment

Education

• Associate degree or certificate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Cardiovascular Technology, or related field preferred
• Or equivalent clinical experience and certification in cardiac sonography

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with echocardiography equipment and image optimization techniques
• Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and common pathologies seen on echo
• Skill in Doppler assessment, color flow imaging, and measurement reproducibility
• Comfortable integrating EKG monitoring with imaging studies
• Familiarity with PACS, image storage, and basic clinical documentation
• Attention to detail, troubleshooting skills, and commitment to quality imaging
