Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care in accordance with facility policies
• Perform and interpret EKGs as part of patient assessment and monitoring
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans
• Document patient care and assessments clearly in the medical record
• Maintain professional licensure, certifications, and required health screenings
• Adhere to infection control practices and facility safety standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse credentials (RN) with license verification required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
• Successful completion of the VHC EKG Exam
• Completion of required health screenings and immunizations (COVID-19, TB, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap)
• Successful drug screen and fit testing as applicable
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in EKG acquisition and basic interpretation
• Solid patient assessment and vital signs monitoring skills
• Medication administration and safety knowledge
• Good charting practices and familiarity with electronic medical records
• Clear communication and teamwork skills with patients and staff
• Ability to adapt quickly to varied clinical settings and patient populations
