Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care during the night shift, keeping patients comfortable and safe
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and on time
- Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings in the medical record
- Collaborate with nurses, providers, and support staff to coordinate excellent care
- Respond quickly and effectively to changes in patient condition and emergency situations
- Support patients and families with education, reassurance, and clear communication
Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license — West Virginia license preferred
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar settings preferred
- Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and managing multiple priorities
- Strong clinical judgment, compassion, and teamwork mindset
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program (LPN diploma or certificate)
- High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Basic wound care and ADL support
- Patient assessment and vital sign monitoring
- Electronic medical record (EMR) charting skills
- Clear communication, time management, and ability to prioritize
