Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care in a fast-paced emergency setting
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care and adjust as patients progress
• Perform nursing interventions and evaluate outcomes to ensure high-quality patient care
• Document thoroughly and efficiently in EPIC to maintain clear communication and continuity
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate timely treatment
• Provide safe patient lifting, transfer, and transport with attention to dignity and safety
• Maintain CPR and specialty certifications and participate in competency testing
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in Rhode Island (required)
• Experience in Emergency Medicine and familiarity with ED workflows
• EPIC experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• NIH Stroke Scale certification
• COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations required per facility policy
• Ability to lift/assist patients and transport them safely
• Proficiency in English and strong communication skills
• Successful completion of CNE skills checklist and specialty competency exams as required

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and triage in emergency settings
• Care planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record
• Basic and advanced cardiac life support (BLS/ACLS) skills
• Pediatric advanced life support (PALS) knowledge
• Basic EKG interpretation and pharmacology awareness
• Infection control practices and immunization requirements
• Safe patient handling and transport techniques
