Roles & Responsibilities
- Analyze blood, tissue, and body fluid samples to deliver accurate results that guide patient diagnosis and treatment
- Prepare reagents, QC materials, and calibrators following established procedures to ensure reliable testing
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance and safety checks on laboratory instruments to keep operations smooth
- Conduct patient testing across laboratory areas and report QC and calibration results, recalibrating when necessary
- Draw blood specimens as directed and manage specimen logging and processing with accuracy and care
- Communicate critical results per procedure to support timely clinical decisions
- Participate in proficiency testing and maintain clear, complete records and reports
- Assist lab aides and other hospital staff with testing guidance and specimen collection criteria, and answer phones professionally
Qualifications
- ASCP certification — required (we need your stamp of expertise)
- Associate's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences — required
- Minimum 2 years of current clinical laboratory experience — hands-on experience matters
- Phlebotomy experience — highly preferred (you’ll draw blood as part of the role)
- Prior travel experience — preferred but not mandatory
- Comfortable with routine instrument maintenance, QC, and reagent preparation
- Strong communication skills for courteous phone and interdepartmental interactions
Education
- Associate's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences (required)

- Quality Control (QC) procedures and documentation
- Reagent preparation and calibrations
