Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality perinatal nursing care for laboring and postpartum patients
- Perform and interpret fetal heart monitoring to support safe delivery decisions
- Lead neonatal resuscitation efforts following NRP protocols when newborns need immediate support
- Deliver STABLE newborn stabilization measures as appropriate
- Collaborate closely with OB, neonatology, anesthesia and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care
- Educate and support patients and families through labor, delivery and early postpartum care
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record and participate in handoffs
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
- Current, unrestricted RN license in Colorado or ability to obtain prior to start
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a perinatal RN required
- BLS required (may be obtained upon hire)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Advanced Provider required
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) Intermediate certification required
- STABLE Program (STABLE) learner required
- BSN or MSN preferred
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical record preferred
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
- Able to safely function at high elevation (~8,000 ft)
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN or MSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Perinatal nursing best practices and maternal-fetal assessment
- Neonatal resuscitation skills and familiarity with NRP algorithms
- Fetal heart monitoring and strip interpretation (FHM)
- STABLE newborn stabilization principles
- Basic Life Support (BLS) proficiency
- Comfort using EPIC or similar EMR systems
- Strong communication and patient/family education skills
- Teamwork, critical thinking and calm performance in high-acuity moments
