Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perinatal nursing care for laboring and postpartum patients
• Perform and interpret fetal heart monitoring to support safe delivery decisions
• Lead neonatal resuscitation efforts following NRP protocols when newborns need immediate support
• Deliver STABLE newborn stabilization measures as appropriate
• Collaborate closely with OB, neonatology, anesthesia and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care
• Educate and support patients and families through labor, delivery and early postpartum care
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record and participate in handoffs

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
• Current, unrestricted RN license in Colorado or ability to obtain prior to start
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a perinatal RN required
• BLS required (may be obtained upon hire)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Advanced Provider required
• Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) Intermediate certification required
• STABLE Program (STABLE) learner required
• BSN or MSN preferred
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical record preferred
• Bilingual Spanish preferred
• Able to safely function at high elevation (~8,000 ft)

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN or MSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Perinatal nursing best practices and maternal-fetal assessment
• Neonatal resuscitation skills and familiarity with NRP algorithms
• Fetal heart monitoring and strip interpretation (FHM)
• STABLE newborn stabilization principles
• Basic Life Support (BLS) proficiency
• Comfort using EPIC or similar EMR systems
• Strong communication and patient/family education skills
• Teamwork, critical thinking and calm performance in high-acuity moments
