Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care for older adults, assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting
• Help with safe transfers and mobility support to reduce fall risk
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes promptly
• Assist with meals and dietary needs while encouraging dignity and independence
• Support meaningful social engagement and therapeutic activities for residents
• Document care accurately and communicate clearly with the clinical team
• Follow infection control, safety protocols and facility policies to protect residents and staff

Qualifications

• Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) or equivalent state certification
• Current BLS/CPR preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Comfortable working with older adults, including those with dementia or mobility limitations
• Ability to pass required background checks, health screenings and immunization requirements
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to providing respectful, person-centered care

Education

• Completion of a certified GNA program or equivalent; high school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) support and resident hygiene
• Basic vital signs measurement and documentation skills
• Familiarity with safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Understanding of infection control practices and personal protective equipment
• Good observational skills to notice changes in condition and escalate appropriately
• Ability to work calmly in fast-paced long-term care settings
