Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality patient care consistent with RN or LPN scope of practice
- Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate changes clearly to the care team
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Document care and patient responses in the electronic health record with attention to detail
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to create and follow care plans
- Support patient and family education to promote recovery and safe transitions
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted RN or LPN license (ability to obtain Maine license prior to start)
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; advanced certifications such as ACLS or PALS preferred when applicable
- Minimum clinical experience at a level appropriate for the role (travel experience a plus)
- Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass facility onboarding requirements
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Education
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program appropriate to licensure (ADN, diploma, or PN program). BSN preferred for Registered Nurses when noted by facility.
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Medication administration and IV therapy competence for RNs as applicable
- Accurate charting and familiarity with electronic health record systems
- Effective teamwork, time management, and prioritization in busy clinical settings
- Patient and family education techniques with a compassionate approach
- Ability to follow facility protocols and maintain high standards of infection control
