Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate intensive care to critically ill patients
• Assess and monitor patients continuously, interpreting hemodynamic and ventilator data
• Administer medications and interventions safely following protocols and physician orders
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and update patient care plans
• Document care thoroughly in the Meditech electronic health record
• Respond rapidly to emergencies and participate in code/rapid response situations
• Float to other critical care and step-down units as needed to meet patient care demands
• Support unit staffing and roster flexibility, contributing to a positive workplace

Qualifications

• Active Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment
• Minimum 3 years of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required (can submit proof or complete 45-minute online class as part of orientation)
• Familiarity with Meditech or similar electronic health record systems
• Ability to work flexible day or night 12-hour shifts and float to other units when needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and monitoring skills
• Experience with ventilator management and hemodynamic support
• Proficiency with Meditech or comparable EMR documentation
• Ability to perform under pressure and prioritize in high-acuity situations
• Effective communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary staff
• Competence in common ICU procedures and emergency interventions
