Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting with dignity
• Provide compassionate bedside care and consistent observation to support resident safety
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to nursing staff
• Support mobility and restorative care programs to help residents maintain independence
• Document care tasks and resident status clearly in the medical record
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists and families to deliver person-centered care
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols

Qualifications

• Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or CNA certification required
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Current immunizations and health screenings as required by facility
• Comfort working night shifts and supporting older adults with patience and empathy
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Prior experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA/CNA certification from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and ADL support
• Proficiency taking vital signs and recognizing changes in patient condition
• Familiarity with charting and basic documentation practices
• Infection prevention and safe patient handling techniques
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to comfort residents and families
• Time management and the ability to prioritize tasks during busy shifts
