Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality bedside care during overnight hours to promote patient comfort and safety
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document all care thoroughly
- Perform timely patient assessments and escalate changes in condition to the interdisciplinary team
- Collaborate with nurses, CNAs and other care partners to coordinate seamless handoffs and continuity of care
- Maintain accurate, timely charting and complete required clinical documentation
- Support infection control practices, safe patient handling and facility policies to protect patients and staff
Qualifications
- Current LPN or RN license in good standing (Travel LPN or Travel RN candidates welcome)
- Active CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain prior to start
- Demonstrated clinical skills in medication administration, patient assessment and documentation
- Comfort working independently on overnight shifts and escalating concerns appropriately
- Professional communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Education
- LPN: Completion of an accredited practical nursing program
- RN: Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of medication administration and safe documentation practices
- Ability to perform thorough patient assessments and recognize changes in condition
- Familiarity with electronic health records and basic computer documentation
- Excellent prioritization, time management and critical-thinking skills during overnight coverage
- Customer-service approach to interacting with patients, families and staff
