Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to geriatric residents, promoting dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Monitor and report changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition to the nursing team
• Support safe transfers and use of assistive devices to reduce fall risk
• Document resident care accurately and timely in accordance with facility policies
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to implement individualized care plans
• Help create a welcoming, home-like environment that supports social engagement and well-being

Qualifications

• Active GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification — required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Comfortable working overnight shifts and supporting a diverse resident population
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Geriatric Nursing Assistant training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with geriatric personal care and ADLs
• Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling techniques
• Ability to observe, document, and escalate changes in resident condition
• Teamwork mindset and ability to follow care plans and facility protocols
• Time management skills to balance multiple resident needs during a shift
