Shift Type: Variable days; Day shifts. Typical schedules include 4x10-hour days or 3x12-hour days with a 36-hour weekly guarantee. Exact start and end times vary by assignment at the facility.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Gather and prepare all surgical supplies and instrumentation needed for each case
- Maintain and monitor sterile technique to ensure a safe operating room environment
- Assume responsibility for keeping the operating room sterilized and organized
- Assist surgical team during procedures by passing instruments and anticipating needs
- Manage supply inventory and restock sterile packs and trays as needed
- Ensure proper documentation and handling of surgical supplies and implants
- Communicate clearly with nurses, surgeons and SPD staff to streamline case flow
Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on CST experience required
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred/required
- NCCT or NBSTSA credential accepted (documentation required)
- BLS (AHA) certification required
- IAHCSMM (HSPA) certification required or equivalent sterile processing knowledge
- Sterile processing experience preferred
- Previous travel assignment experience preferred
- Traveler-provided scrubs for clinical shifts
Education
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program or equivalent training
- High school diploma or GED
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong sterile technique and operating room sterilization practices
- Supply management and tray/station setup for a variety of surgical specialties
- Familiarity with sterile processing workflows and instrument care
- Ability to anticipate surgeon and team needs during cases
- Good communication, teamwork and adaptability in a fast-paced OR
- Attention to detail for documentation and infection control procedures
