Roles & Responsibilities

• Read and interpret a high volume of prenatal ultrasound studies — up to 600 reports monthly — with accuracy and clinical judgment
• Perform prenatal diagnostic procedures including amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling
• Conduct first trimester nuchal translucency assessments and diagnostic ultrasonography
• Provide outpatient clinic care and inpatient consult coverage as needed to support the service
• Collaborate closely with sonographers, RNs, CMAs, and administrative staff to deliver coordinated patient care
• Document encounters and ultrasound reports thoroughly using EPIC/Viewpoint and maintain timely charting
• Communicate findings compassionately to patients and coordinate referrals or follow-up care when appropriate

Qualifications

• MD or DO with Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship training (required)
• Board certification or board eligibility in Maternal-Fetal Medicine preferred
• Experience interpreting obstetrical ultrasound and performing prenatal diagnostic procedures such as amniocentesis and CVS
• Comfortable using EPIC/Viewpoint for ultrasound reporting and clinical documentation
• Ability to work effectively with sonographers and multidisciplinary clinic staff
• Current unrestricted medical license in Kentucky or ability to obtain licensure prior to start
• Note: active or recent malpractice cases may be a deal breaker for consideration

Education

• MD or DO; Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship

• Advanced ultrasound interpretation and fetal imaging expertise
• Skilled in prenatal diagnostic procedures and first trimester assessments
• Proficient with EPIC/Viewpoint electronic medical records for reporting and charting
• Strong clinical judgment for inpatient consults and outpatient management
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills with sonographers and clinical staff
• Efficient time management to handle high-volume reporting while maintaining quality
