Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate bedside care to geriatric residents, helping maintain dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Take and record vital signs, monitor resident condition, and report changes promptly to nursing staff
• Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics during resident handling
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of resident care and observations
• Help create a friendly, home-like environment and engage residents in social activities
• Follow infection control practices and facility policies to keep residents and staff safe

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or state-equivalent credential
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus
• Ability to work night shift hours and adapt to a travel assignment schedule
• Clear background check and ability to meet facility immunization requirements
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and best practices
• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and mobility support
• Basic vital sign measurement and documentation skills
• Familiarity with infection control procedures and PPE use
• Good interpersonal skills for resident-centered communication
• Ability to follow care plans and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
