Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate bedside care to geriatric residents, helping maintain dignity and comfort
- Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
- Take and record vital signs, monitor resident condition, and report changes promptly to nursing staff
- Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics during resident handling
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of resident care and observations
- Help create a friendly, home-like environment and engage residents in social activities
- Follow infection control practices and facility policies to keep residents and staff safe
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification or state-equivalent credential
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Previous experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus
- Ability to work night shift hours and adapt to a travel assignment schedule
- Clear background check and ability to meet facility immunization requirements
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of geriatric care principles and best practices
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and mobility support
- Basic vital sign measurement and documentation skills
- Familiarity with infection control procedures and PPE use
- Good interpersonal skills for resident-centered communication
- Ability to follow care plans and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
