Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team promptly
• Support safe transfers and mobility using proper techniques to prevent injury
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and handoffs to the care team
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff
• Communicate clearly and kindly with residents and their families about daily needs
• Collaborate with nurses and other caregivers to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or state-recognized equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Able to pass background check and meet facility health and immunization requirements
• Comfortable working with older adults, including those with dementia or mobility challenges
• Strong teamwork mindset and reliable attendance for scheduled shifts

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and personal care
• Knowledge of safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with basic infection control practices
• Good observation skills and the ability to report changes in condition
• Kind, patient communication with residents and families
