Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered care that preserves dignity and independence
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
• Support mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Monitor residents’ condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff
• Accurately document care provided, vitals, and any notable observations
• Follow infection control procedures and facility safety protocols
• Collaborate with the care team to implement individualized care plans

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or equivalent (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Demonstrated experience working with older adults or in long-term care settings preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with residents and families
• Ability to pass facility background checks and meet state health requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited GNA training program or state-approved certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) assistance and mobility support
• Skilled in basic resident care: bathing, toileting, feeding, and grooming
• Comfortable taking and recording vital signs and observing changes in condition
• Familiarity with infection control practices and safe patient handling
• Compassionate, patient-focused approach and solid teamwork skills
