Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility)
• Monitor and document resident conditions, reporting changes to nursing staff
• Support meal times and ensure dietary needs are respected
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver consistent care
• Engage residents in social activities and support emotional well-being

Qualifications

• GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and recommended immunizations
• Strong communication skills and a patient, respectful bedside manner
• Previous experience in geriatric or long-term care environments is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA/CNA certification (state-recognized) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic geriatric care and common age-related conditions
• Skillful assistance with ADLs and safe patient transfers
• Accurate documentation and attention to detail
• Familiarity with infection control practices and resident safety
• Comfortable working as part of a collaborative care team
