Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered care that preserves dignity and independence
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming and feeding
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output and behavioral changes accurately
• Support safe mobility and fall prevention efforts during transfers and ambulation
• Follow care plans and communicate changes promptly to the nursing team
• Maintain infection control standards and keep resident environments clean and safe
• Document care thoroughly and participate in shift handoffs for continuity
• Offer emotional support and friendly companionship to residents and families

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required
• CPR/BLS certification required or obtained upon hire
• Ability to pass background check and any facility-specific screenings
• Comfort working night shifts and managing the physical demands of resident care
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude with interdisciplinary teams

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited Geriatric Nursing Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing care and geriatric best practices
• Skilled in safe transfer techniques and resident mobility assistance
• Familiarity with charting and accurate documentation
• Understanding of infection control and emergency procedures
• Excellent interpersonal skills for working with residents, families and staff
• Time management and prioritization in a busy clinical setting
