Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Monitor and record patient condition and vital signs, reporting changes to the clinical team
• Support mental health treatment activities under the direction of licensed clinicians
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in patient records
• Assist with maintaining a safe, secure environment appropriate to a correctional healthcare setting
• Collaborate with nursing and multidisciplinary staff to ensure continuity of care
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training to stay current with policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
• Experience or interest in Mental Health preferred; correctional healthcare experience is a plus
• Medical Assistant (MA) training/experience is a nice-to-have
• Ability to work Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM consistently
• Willingness to complete a 2-3 week orientation at the facility prior to independent assignment

Education

• Completion of an approved CNA program
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• MA training/certification is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient care fundamentals and comfort assisting with ADLs
• Good clinical observation and documentation skills
• Basic knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
• Effective communication and teamwork in a multidisciplinary setting
• Calm, respectful approach to de-escalation and working with behavioral health populations
• Ability to follow facility-specific protocols and maintain patient confidentiality
