Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate daily care to residents, prioritizing dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and report observations to nursing staff
• Follow individualized care plans and support restorative and social activities
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and resident interactions
• Support infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent
• Prior experience working with elderly or long-term care residents preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain promptly
• Ability to pass facility background checks and health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and ADL support
• Comfortable taking and recording vital signs and tracking changes
• Familiarity with infection control, safety protocols, and patient handling
• Reliable time management and documentation skills
• Empathy, patience, and the ability to work well within a care team
