Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care to residents, prioritizing dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and report observations to nursing staff
- Follow individualized care plans and support restorative and social activities
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and resident interactions
- Support infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications
- Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent
- Prior experience working with elderly or long-term care residents preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain promptly
- Ability to pass facility background checks and health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completion of an approved GNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and ADL support
- Comfortable taking and recording vital signs and tracking changes
- Familiarity with infection control, safety protocols, and patient handling
- Reliable time management and documentation skills
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to work well within a care team
