Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, promoting dignity and comfort
- Support nurses by observing and reporting changes in residents’ conditions
- Provide compassionate personal care including bathing, dressing, and mobility assistance
- Help create a warm, safe environment and build meaningful connections with residents
- Document care accurately and communicate effectively with the care team
- Assist with mealtime support and monitor dietary needs as directed
Qualifications
- Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent experience
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
- Proven ability to provide patient-centered care with empathy and respect
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
- Prior experience in long-term care, assisted living, or skilled nursing preferred
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; GNA/CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic nursing assistant duties and resident care best practices
- Comfortable with mobility assistance and safe transfer techniques
- Ability to observe, record, and report changes in resident status
- Familiarity with infection control procedures and safe hygiene practices
- Good time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
