Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered care and assist with activities of daily living
- Safely assist with transfers, mobility, and positioning to promote independence
- Monitor and document resident condition and behaviors accurately and promptly
- Support mealtime, grooming, and hygiene needs while preserving dignity
- Collaborate with the nursing team to follow and help implement individualized care plans
- Communicate clearly with residents, families, and teammates to enhance resident well-being
Qualifications
- Valid GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent in Maryland (required)
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or able to obtain upon hire
- Experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a strong plus
- Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass background and health screenings
- Compassion, patience, attention to detail, and strong communication skills
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved GNA program preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of ADLs and basic nursing care for older adults
- Infection control and resident safety practices
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
- Teamwork, time management, and strong interpersonal skills
