Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to geriatric residents, promoting dignity and independence
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Monitor and document resident conditions, reporting changes promptly to the nursing team
• Support safe mobility and transfers with proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility procedures to protect residents and staff
• Engage residents in meaningful conversation and activities to support emotional wellbeing
• Collaborate with nursing staff to help implement individualized care plans

Qualifications

• Valid GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Current state registration or ability to obtain state-required credentials
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings/immunizations
• Dependable, compassionate, and comfortable working a night shift schedule
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care needs and best practices
• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and basic resident hygiene
• Familiarity with documentation and reporting procedures
• Understanding of infection control and resident safety principles
• Good observational skills and ability to escalate clinical concerns appropriately
• Strong interpersonal skills and a patient-centered approach
