Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate daily care and personal support to residents
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Monitor and report changes in residents’ condition to nursing staff promptly
• Help with safe transfers and use proper body mechanics when assisting residents
• Document care given and observations accurately and timely
• Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents' comfort and dignity
• Collaborate with the care team to create a positive, therapeutic environment

Qualifications

• GNA certification or state equivalent required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience with geriatric or long-term care preferred
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Ability to perform physical aspects of the role including safe resident handling

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and dignity-focused support
• Basic vital signs and observation skills
• Accurate documentation and charting practices
• Infection control and safety awareness
• Good interpersonal skills and patience with older adults
• Time management and the ability to follow care plans
