Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
• Monitor resident condition and promptly report changes to nursing staff
• Support mobility and fall-prevention measures to keep residents safe
• Document care accurately and maintain clear communication with the care team
• Help create a warm, home-like environment and engage residents in daily routines

Qualifications

• Valid GNA / Geriatric Nursing Assistant certification (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or able to obtain promptly
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred
• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and working with an interdisciplinary team
• Reliable, compassionate, and patient-focused approach to resident care

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• Completion of an approved GNA or nursing assistant training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of geriatric care principles and ADL assistance
• Basic infection control and safety practices
• Accurate documentation and observational skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time on a busy night shift
