Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance to residents in a skilled nursing setting
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing and mobility
- Monitor resident condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff
- Support mealtime needs and ensure safe feeding practices
- Document care accurately and maintain resident dignity and privacy
- Work collaboratively with the care team to create a positive living environment
Qualifications
- Active GNA certification or equivalent in the state of Maryland
- Current CPR or BLS certification preferred
- Previous experience in long term care or geriatric settings is a plus
- Ability to pass background checks and health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to resident care
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus GNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
- Safe transfer and positioning techniques
- Basic vital signs and observation skills
- Good documentation practices and attention to detail
- Team-oriented mindset and strong interpersonal skills
