Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents as a trusted member of the care team
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding) with dignity and respect
• Monitor resident condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff to ensure timely care
• Document care accurately and timely in the clinical record to support continuity and safety
• Support a safe and clean environment by following infection control and facility policies
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and support staff to deliver coordinated, high-quality care
• Engage residents in meaningful conversation and activities to promote emotional well-being

Qualifications

• Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification — listed as the position class
• Ability to safely perform resident care tasks during the 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM shift
• Comfort working in long-term care / geriatric care settings (facility: Genesis - Mid-America & SE Region)
• Professional attitude, reliable attendance, and strong communication skills

• Hands-on experience with ADLs and bedside care for older adults
• Familiarity with basic infection control practices and resident safety protocols
• Clear, respectful communication with residents, family members, and clinical staff
• Accurate charting and basic observational skills to notice changes in condition
• Teamwork and the ability to follow direction from licensed nursing staff
