Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care for older adults, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes promptly to the nursing team
• Support mealtime and feeding assistance while encouraging dignity and independence
• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
• Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team
• Assist with activities of daily living and therapeutic activities that promote engagement
• Accurately document care and follow facility policies and infection control standards

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or state-approved nursing assistant credential
• CPR/BLS certification (current) or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Previous experience caring for older adults preferred but new grads are welcome with strong training completion
• Comfortable with basic patient transfers and mobility assistance
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach
• Ability to pass background check and any required health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a state-approved GNA training program or nursing assistant coursework

Knowledge & Skills

• Fundamentals of geriatric care and dignity-preserving assistance
• Basic vital signs measurement and observation skills
• Knowledge of infection control and safe handling procedures
• Good documentation practices and attention to detail
• Teamwork mindset and the ability to follow care plans
• Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills with older adults and families
