Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting) to promote residents' dignity
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility to reduce fall risk and support independence
• Monitor and report changes in residents' condition to nursing staff promptly
• Document resident care, observations, and interventions accurately and timely
• Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents receive appropriate nutrition and hydration
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection prevention protocols
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and communicate with families courteously

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) — Maryland certification preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Current CPR/BLS certification is recommended or obtainable upon hire
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility health/immunization requirements
• Strong interpersonal skills, compassion, and ability to work nights as scheduled

Education

• GNA certificate or state-recognized geriatric nursing assistant credential
• High school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and personal care for older adults
• Basic vital signs and observation skills with reliable documentation
• Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling techniques
• Good communication skills for working with residents, families, and staff
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively on a night shift team
