Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered personal care to geriatric patients with dignity and respect
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting and feeding
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Observe and accurately report changes in condition to licensed nursing staff
• Maintain accurate documentation of care and follow facility policies and care plans
• Practice infection control and maintain a clean, safe environment for residents
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver consistent, high-quality care

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
• Valid state certification or registration as required by Maryland
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or able to obtain promptly
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening per facility policy
• Clear background check and ability to pass required health screenings
• Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills and ability to work nights

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with elder care and ADLs
• Basic vital signs and observational skills
• Infection prevention and safe handling techniques
• Accurate charting and documentation practices
• Teamwork, time management and respectful communication with residents and families
• Ability to follow care plans and direction from licensed nurses
