Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered care that preserves dignity and independence
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding)
• Support mobility and safe transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Monitor and report changes in residents’ condition to nursing staff promptly
• Document care accurately and thoroughly following facility policies
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver consistent, high-quality care
• Help create a warm, home-like environment and engage residents in meaningful activities

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtained upon hire
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility immunization requirements
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-focused attitude
• Physical ability to perform resident care duties and safe lifting protocols

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of resident-centered care principles and geriatric needs
• Familiarity with ADLs, transfers, and safe resident handling
• Understanding of infection control and basic medication observation
• Comfortable with electronic or paper documentation systems
• Teamwork mindset and ability to communicate effectively with residents and families
