Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
- Monitor vital signs and report changes in condition promptly to nursing staff
- Support mobility and transfers safely, using proper body mechanics and assistive equipment
- Document care accurately and timely in the resident chart to ensure continuity
- Help create a warm, respectful environment that preserves dignity and independence
- Assist with meal service and nutrition monitoring, noting intake and preferences
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain a safe, sanitary resident environment
Qualifications
- GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) — required or active certification expected
- Previous experience working with older adults or in long-term care preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass required background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADLs, patient transfers, and safe resident handling
- Able to take and record vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with basic charting and care documentation
- Understanding of infection control and standard precautions
- Compassionate resident-centered care and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow care plans and collaborate with nursing staff
