Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate daily care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
• Monitor vital signs and report changes in condition promptly to nursing staff
• Support mobility and transfers safely, using proper body mechanics and assistive equipment
• Document care accurately and timely in the resident chart to ensure continuity
• Help create a warm, respectful environment that preserves dignity and independence
• Assist with meal service and nutrition monitoring, noting intake and preferences
• Follow infection control protocols and maintain a safe, sanitary resident environment

Qualifications

• GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) — required or active certification expected
• Previous experience working with older adults or in long-term care preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass required background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADLs, patient transfers, and safe resident handling
• Able to take and record vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with basic charting and care documentation
• Understanding of infection control and standard precautions
• Compassionate resident-centered care and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow care plans and collaborate with nursing staff
